Description

This katana is signed by Ushu-ju Sato Shoji Minamoto Shigekatsu, a swordsmith active in Dewa Province during the late Edo period. According to the NBTHK appraisal paper, this blade was forged in August of Ansei 5 (1858). The sword comes with a NBTHK Hozon Certificate, shirasaya case, koshirae mounting, traditional sword carrying case, and a sword maintenance kit.
