This listing features a tanto by Akihisa, made in early winter of Showa 56 (1981). Akihisa, born in Niigata Prefecture in 1910, studied Bizen tradition under Kasama Shigetsugu and later became an army-commissioned swordsmith during the war. Post-war, he researched and produced excellent jigane with bright choji-midare hamon.

Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
