This is a katana made by Fujiwara Saneyuki who lived in Takada, Buzen Province during the early Edo period. Saneyuki was active from the Kanei to Enpo eras (1624-1673). He is known to have made a sword with a cutting test inscription by Shibasaki Denzaemon尉Masatsugu in Kanbun 8 (1668).
