This is an antique Kougai from the Edo period, featuring a Chikubai-zu (bamboo and plum blossoms) design. It is crafted from copper using traditional techniques such as Nanakoji, Takabori, and Kin-iroe. The Kougai was a traditional hair ornament for Samurai, typically stored in the scabbard of their sword.
