Two courts, sixty years of war, and the most dramatic silhouettes in the sword’s history: broad blades, extended points, true ōdachi later cut down into the majestic katana collectors prize. The Sōshū manner was the style of the age.
This unsigned double-edged Tsurugi is attributed to Yamato Koken, a general term for swords made in the Yamato style before the Nanbokucho period. It is certified as Hozon Token by the NBTHK, indicating its authenticity and artistic value. The sword comes with a koshirae featuring an Unryu (dragon and clouds) theme on the Fuchi-Kashira and a dragon-wrapped Tsuka.
