Warikibatamei signed Goto Mitsumasa Formerly part of the Ryushido collection Hakogaki by Goto Mitsumasa Goto Mitsumasa was the second son on Benjo, and became the 6th master of the Hanzaemon line following his father's death in the 4th year of Kaei (1851). Mitsumasa was the nephew of Ichijo and apprenticed under him, as well as under Mitsuakira in Edo, eventually rising to be one of the head instructors in the Ichijo school. In the Meiji period, he left his craft to become a senior official in the Ministry of Finance mint. This piece features tigers superbly executed in kinmuku and Youbori, well showcasing Mitsumasa's skill. Formerly part of the Ryushido collection, the inner box features a Hakogaki by Mitsumasa himself.
