Muromachi Period Tsuba for Sale

Muromachi tsuba are the early chapters of the guard-maker’s art: austere iron plates in the Ko-Tōshō and Ko-Katchūshi traditions, pierced sukashi work, and the brass-inlaid Ōnin and Heianjō styles. Attribution for early unsigned guards rests on style and workmanship, and period boundaries are read cautiously — but the finest examples carry an iron quality later ages never quite recovered. A foundational field for the serious tosogu collector.
