This is a Nanban tsuba featuring an arabesque and cloud dragon design carved into an iron plate. Nanban tsuba are characterized by their exotic designs influenced by European culture, often made in Hirado and Nagasaki during the early Edo period. This piece also features a Seigaiha pattern carved on the seppa-dai, typical of the style.
