This is a katana by Isshinko Kariya Naohide, a Yasukuni swordsmith, measuring 72.0cm. Born in 1917, Naohide studied under Ikeda Yasumitsu, a chief Yasukuni smith, and was active in making Yasukuni-to from 1937. This blade, made in 2002, features a wide body and narrow shinogi, ideal for tameshigiri (test cutting), with a tight hamon and deep boshi return, making it highly recommended for iaido and test cutting.
