Muromachi turned sword making into an industry: the uchigatana rose with massed infantry warfare, Osafune and Seki produced bundle swords beside custom orders, and the Ming trade carried Japanese blades abroad by the tens of thousands.
This is an unsigned katana attributed to Sue Bizen from the late Muromachi period. It features a robust form with an extended kissaki and a well-forged mokume hada with faint utsuri. The hamon is a bright gunome midare with frequent ashi and sunagashi, and the boshi returns in a round shape. The sword comes with a copper-silver habaki, shirasaya, and a Type 32 Army officer's saber koshirae for two hands, including a field leather cover.
