This is a Showa-era katana made by Watanabe Kanenaga, a leading swordsmith from Seki in Noshu. The blade features a masame-hada jigane with gunome hamon interspersed with togari-ba, and is in excellent condition. It comes with a high-quality, late-war Type 98 military mounting, also in excellent condition, complete with eight seppa and a company-grade officer's tassel.
