Description

A kozuka with a shrimp motif, unsigned, made in Higo province during the Edo period. The kozuka features a brass high relief carving of a shrimp with silver inlay, with the curved body of the shrimp matching the round butt of the iron base. The shrimp, with its long whiskers and bent back, symbolizes longevity.
