Description

This is a Juyo Tosogu designated set of sword fittings by Sonobe Yoshitsugu, an Edo period master of the Sonobe school. Crafted in the late Edo period (1775-1842), it features a high-relief colored carving of sea bream on a deep black shakudo nanako ground. The design is beautiful and substantial, with effectively placed gold accents adding to its elegance.
