This is a magnificent set of Daisho Koshirae (matching mountings for a katana and wakizashi) featuring peony and butterfly designs in gold maki-e. The fittings are signed by Horie Okimune, a disciple of the renowned Horie Okimasa, and dated Bunkyu 2 (1862).
