Description

This is a large and dignified tsuba from the Edo period, attributed to Echizen. It features a Kikusui (chrysanthemum and water) design rendered in nikubori-jisukashi (relief carving and openwork) technique. The intricate design shows chrysanthemum leaves emerging from waves, with a full chrysanthemum flower at the top, resembling the sun rising over mountains. It comes with an NBTHK Hozon Tosogu certificate.
