This wakizashi by Kanemune belongs to the Yamato Tegai School, founded in the late Kamakura period. Dating from the Kanbun era (1661-1672), it represents one of the last works from this historically significant school. The blade features a masame straight-grain jihada and a hamon that transitions from suguha yakidashi to gunome midare with sunagashi and kinsen, a hallmark of the Shintô era. It comes with an Edo period koshirae and two certificates: NBTHK Hozon and NTHK-NPO Kanteisho.
