This is a beautiful openwork tsuba featuring a narcissus design on both the front and back. It was made by Kinai of Echizen province during the late Edo period. The Echizen Kinai school, known for its distinctive carving style, originated with a family that moved from Omi province around the Kanei era and continued until the end of the Edo period.
