This is a wakizashi made by 2nd generation Kawashima Chuzen in Showa 44 (1969). Chuzen was born in Shimane prefecture in 1923 and learned sword making from his father, the 1st generation Chuzen. He was designated as a Mukansa (無鑑査) swordsmith, the highest rank for contemporary smiths, in 1972.
