Description

This is a wakizashi by Kaneoto, a swordsmith of the Seki San’ami tradition active during the mid-Muromachi period. The blade features carvings of a suken and the Sanskrit seed syllable of Fudō Myōō on the omote side, and gomabashi on the ura side. The koshirae is adorned with fine old metal fittings of high quality and the blade is in generally sound condition, though in old polish.
