NihontoWatchBETAThis is a katana signed "Higo Kuni Ju Minamoto Morimitsu" and dated January 1985, with a blade length of 73.2cm and a curvature of 1.8cm. The smith, Minamoto Morimitsu, was born in 1910 in Kumamoto Prefecture and apprenticed under Kongobyoe Moritaka Yasuhiro in 1939. He produced swords for officers at the Kokura Army Arsenal from 1942 and later received numerous awards at modern sword exhibitions.
