Edo-period katana mounted in a handachi koshirae with a classically proportioned blade and sober, formal mounting. The blade is formed in shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune and a suguha hamon. The koshirae features a saya finished in glossy black lacquer, light samegawa tsuka with dark tsuka-ito, gilt menuki, and an iron tsuba.
