This is a massive iron tsuba for an ogatana, likely from the early to mid Edo period and attributed to the Shoami school. The sand iron plate has a rich brown-black color and a plastic-like feel. It is decorated with various hot stamps of han, bats, and the moon, making it a unique collector's piece.
