A large cupped tsuba featuring a dragon and stormy seas, signed nijimei Masatsune. Robert Haynes suggested it was likely from the Mito school out of Dewa, though he had no reference to this smith. The tsuba is in excellent condition and features beautiful takazogon.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK). Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
Three day, no penalty, inspection on every item. Returns must be in the same condition as shipped. Actual costs will be charged on returned items. No restocking fee. If you did not like the item is a good enough reason for return.
