Description

This is an iron tsuba from the Kyô-Sukashi school, dating to the 18th century Edo period. It features an unusual square shape with a lattice design, enhanced by a partial cherry blossom carved in negative sukashi where the kogai-ana would be. The tsuba comes with NBTHK Hozon papers, attributing it to the Kyo-sukashi school and certifying its period.
