This piece is Kogarasumaru style pocket knife with an inscription of Munechika. The sword is extremely well preserved, with no flaws, dents, rust or chips of any kind. It has Kogarasumaru shape and is also engraved with a groove. The jigane on this piece is a well polished itame hada. The hamon is a gunome and the overall style is niedeki. In the ha you can see work like kinsen and yo. The nakago is engraved with "Munechika saku" on the sashiura side. Speaking of Munechika, he is the most famous swordsmith in the history of Japanese swords, who made swords in the Sanjo area of Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto in the mid-Heian period and became the founder of the "Sanjo School". Due to the beauty and condition of this piece, the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords certified this piece as a Hozon and issued a certificate of authenticity in February 2024.
