Goto Tsuba for Sale

The Goto school was the orthodox house of soft-metal (kinko) sword-fitting art, serving the Ashikaga and Tokugawa shogunates for seventeen generations. Though best known for menuki and kozuka, the Goto produced refined tsuba in shakudo with nanako ground and gold detail, embodying the formal courtly style. Goto work sets the standard against which all soft-metal tosogu is measured.
